American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor
The American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) course trains instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross student-level courses, including Lifeguarding and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers. Candidates must be 17 years or older and have a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
You must successfully:

Complete the Lifeguarding Instructor Course online session, prerequisite skill assessment scenario, and skill practice and polish session

Attend the entire couse and participate in all in-person sessions and course activities

Complete two practice teaching assignments

Demonstrate instructor-level skill competency

Pass the final written exam (minimum grade 80%)
The Lifeguarding Instructor certification is valid for 2 years.
